'Halter' Paints vs. 'working' Paints:
Halter is a discipline where horses are not being ridden, but are rather led by hand, and judged based on their appearance and movement.
The American Paint Halter Horses which are bred for halter shows might show a different appearance than that of the iconic "working" Paint Horses (see the 'American Paint Stock Horse' breed). First, American Paint Halter Horses have a smaller, sometimes slightly dished, head. Secondly, they carry their neck at a higher angle than the angle of the "ordinary" Paint Horse. Finally, they are heavier and more muscular than the average Paint Horse.
