About:
The Andravida was created in the first half of the 20th century by crossing local Greek pony breeds with Anglo-Norman and Nonius horses. The breed was extensively crossbred during the 20th century, especially with Thoroughbred and Selle-Francais horses, and by the beginning 21th century its purebred form was considered to be extinct.
In 2010, a small herd of purebred Andravida horses was discovered, and this led to new efforts to conserve this breed. Today Andravida horses exist in small numbers.
Conformation:
The conformation of Andravida horses is somewhat unconventional, as they have rectangular heads, arched backs, and quite long ears which can sometimes be curved.
That said, the exact conformation can differ between horses of this breed, with some of them looking more similar to Nonius horses than to other Andravida horses (see the 'Nonius' for more info). However, the Nonius-like variation does not exist in Horse Isle.
The manes and tails of Andravida horses are extremely thin.
