An Appendix McCurdy Plantation Horse ('Appendix McCurdy' for short) is a McCurdy sub-registry for crosses between a McCurdy Plantation Horse and one of the following breeds: Tennessee Walking Horse, Missouri Fox Trotter, Racking Horse, and Rocky Mountain Horse.

Wasn't the Appendix registry cancelled?
In December 2021, the Appendix registry got closed. However, in Horse Isle this registry is still active because the McCurdy Plantation Horse was created back when the Appendix Registry was still active.

Breedng rules:
The following rules are based on the breeding rules before the Appendix registry was closed.

Appendix McCurdys are limited to only one outcross before they can no longer be registered in the appendix book. In Horse Isle, in order to comply with this restriction, Appendix McCurdys cannot be crossed with themselves, nor with any other breed, except for with McCurdy Plantation Horse. This is because it is impossible to monitor the number of outcrosses among horses in Horse Isle.

Conformation and breeding tips:
Being only 50% McCurdy Plantation Horses, Appendix McCurdy horses can vary in their conformation compared to purebred McCurdy Plantation Horses.

Still, when it comes to their mane, Appendix McCurdys always has silky mane. Therefore, breeders should pick the non-McCurdy parent with care.
