A sport horse with a chrome:
Registries for pinto horses are not unique to Austria, but while most of said registries pay attention only to the horse's coat, Austria transformed its pinto horses into a breed that has more to offer than a colorful look.
Austrian Pinto Riding Horses are bred to be versatile sport horses for recreational riding, both for English and Western disciplines, with a conformation to match. Their pinto coat is a mandatory extra, always coming in tobiano or tovero, giving them the pinto chrome they were named after.
Breeding:
Generally speaking, Austrian Pinto Riding Horses have an open studbook that accepts any pinto horse that can add athleticism to the breed. In Horse Isle, however, when it comes to purebreeding, the Austrian Pinto Riding Horse has a closed book due to technical reasons.
Conformation:
Austrian Pinto Riding Horses have a light head with a straight profile, large eyes, and medium ears. The neck is of medium length and tapers toward the head. The withers are prominent, the back is of medium length, the chest is deep, the legs are slightly broad, and the hooves are of medium size.
Similar to other sport breeds, the mane of Austrian Pinto Riding Horses is short or medium in length but the tail grows long.
