The Classic American Shetland is a subtype of the American Shetland.

The Classic middle-pony:
Its conformation is a blend of the Foundation and Modern American Shetlands, as it is leaner and more refined than the Foundation type, but is heavier than the Modern type. It is perfect for those who want a nice, little pony whose body is showy but still has substance.
