The Danish Warmblood (formerly known as 'Danish Sport Horse') is a sport-horse breed which excels in dressage and show-jumping.

The Danish Warmblood was created in 1962, when Danish breeders crossed native Frederiksborg mares, as well as imported mares of German lineage, with Thoroughbreds, Trakehners, Malopolskies, Wielkopolskies, and Swedish horses, to name a few. The result was an athletic and energetic breed, with an exceptional talent for dressage, and an impressive jumping ability.

In order to maintain the athleticism and the energetic temperament of this breed, the Danish Warmblood Association has an open studbook, which means that it allows crossbreeding with other warmblood sport breeds, as well as with Arabian, Thoroughbred, Anglo-Arab, and Shagya Arabian horses. However, all horses must first pass an extremely strict selection process by the Danish Warmblood Association before they are allowed to breed.

Danish Warmbloods usually come in the colors of bay, brown, chestnut, black, or grey, but other solid colors can be found as well. They stand between 15.3hh and 17hh, with most of them being between 16.1hh and 16.3hh.
