About:
Finland is the home to the famous Finnhorse, and those who know this native breed well are probably familiar with its pony form. Unfortunately, while Finnhorse Ponies are great for recreational riding, they are no match for the athleticism of other European sport pony breeds.
This led Finnish breeders to breed a new type of Finnish pony that'll make a good mount for young Finnish riders who wish to compete in English disciplines, especially at international youth levels. The result is the Finnish Sport Pony, which is bred to excel in show-jumping, dressage, and eventing.
Breeding:
In order to ensure that the athleticism of the Finnish Sport Pony matches that of its European rivals, the studbook of the Finnish Sport Pony allows it to be crossed with several other pony breeds, be it British or Irish breeds, several other European sport ponies, or even a small Thoroughbred.
That said, in Horse Isle, only a handful of these breeds are approved to the studbook of the FSP, due to significant conformation differences between them and the FSP. Note that due to the unique conformation of the FSP, even crossing it with those might still result in a grade foal.
Conformation:
In Horse Isle, Finnish Sport Ponies have a similar conformation to the Finnish Warmblood, only with pony-like features like larger eyes and smaller ears. In addition, they are obviously shorter in height, standing no taller than 14.2hh.
