To many people, any horse smaller than 14.2hh is a pony; but a true pony is much more than just size. Ponies appear to have developed in the forested areas of northwestern Europe; they share longish bodies, small, active ears set upon a wide but tapering head, abundant hair, and an attitude that takes no nonsense from anyone! Don't let their size fool you: ponies are tough, strong and amazingly intelligent.
