"Warmbloods" or "warm-blooded" refers to a horse whose build and character are in-between a hotblood and a coldblood, and are generally a mixture of the two (recent or ancient). Stouter and on the whole somewhat stronger than hotbloods, they are not as aloof as hotbloods can be, nor as languid as coldbloods. When called upon, they can perform almost any task and do it reasonably well. Moderate in all things, the average warmblood is neither very tall nor very short, and has an equable temperament. They are willing workers who generally take direction well.
Conformationally, warmbloods vary considerably, depending upon the use for which they were bred.
