[ INDEX ] Equine Type: Horse Breed: Heavy Waler [ PREV ] [ NEXT ]
About:
Heavy Walers are wider and more muscular than the standard Waler. They have more pulling power, which was why, back at the time when armies used cavalries, they served as artillery horses rather than cavalry mounts, meaning they were used for pulling and transporting artillery to, from, and on the battlefield.
Although the Waler doesn't serve as a cavalry breed anymore, Heavy Walers never disappeared, and today they are used for recreational riding.
