About:
Horse-drawn carts are a common sight in Moldova's rural scene, and so are the Local Moldovan horses that pull them. This breed, which was created at some point of history by mixing various Russian breeds, roams Moldova by the thousands and serves for both riding and cart-pulling.
Conformation:
There is no set standard or set breeding practices for Local Moldovans, and therefore individual members of the breed can vary greatly in their conformation. In Horse Isle, we aimed at giving the Local Moldovan a unique appearance, while also relying on pictures and descriptions of this breed, and keeping in mind that this breed is primarily used for pulling carts.
Local Moldovans have a straight profile, a short-to-medium low-set neck with minimal crest, an arched back, a sloping croup, slender legs with wide hooves, and a broad body.
