About:
Mallorca is a Spanish island located at the Mediterranean Sea, and is the birthplace of the Mallorquin breed. Although the origins of this breed are unclear, they included the blood of the Barb, Arabian, and Catalan (a now-extinct breed) breeds.
Today, the Mallorcquin still roams Mallorca in small numbers. It is used as a light riding horse and as a harness horse.
Conformation:
The Mallorquin is an Iberian horse with a long head and a convex profile. The neck is short, arched, and slender, connecting to smooth withers and back. The croup is sloping, and the chest is prominent. The body is narrow and light, although the legs are muscular.
The mane and tail grow long, and the legs are clear from feathering.
