The Red Kladruby is a subtype of the Kladruby breed that exists only in Horse Isle.

Aren't Kladruby horses only come in black or grey?
Yes and no.

Officially, there are only two approved colors for Kladruby horses: black and grey (see 'Black Kladruby' and 'Grey Kladruby'). However, on rare occasions, chestnut Kladruby foals do crop up.

Chestnut is undesirable in the Kladruby breed, which is why chestnut stallions are excluded from the breeding program. Chestnut mares, however, are allowed to breed. This is probably because chestnut is a recessive trait, meaning that crossing a chestnut mare with a heterozygous black or a heterozygous grey stallion can result in a black or grey foal.

Why are there chestnut Kladrubies in Horse Isle, then?
The real breeding program for Kladruby horses allows the registration of chestnut stallions and mares as well as the breeding of mares. In Horse Isle, however, we can't differentiate between stallions and mares when it comes to color.

Therefore, as a compromise, we created a separate, 'red' herd to allow players to breed chestnut Kladruby horses. However, crossing a chestnut Kladruby with a non-chestnut Kladruby will generate a non-pure Kladruby foal unless the foal is chestnut, in which case they'll be pure and belong to the red herd.

Markings: red Kladrubies follow the same markings rule as black Kladrubies. This means that in Horse Isle they can have only facial markings that are no larger than a medium star or a medium snip (see 'markings' under 'Black Kladruby' for more info).
