[ INDEX ] Equine Type: Horse Breed: Slovak Sport Pony [ PREV ] [ NEXT ]
Origins:
The development of the Slovak Sport Pony began during the 1980s, and was done by crossing Slovak Warmbloods with German Riding Ponies, Welsh Ponies (sections A and B,) and small Arabians and Thoroughbreds. It was created to serve as a mount for children.
Breeding:
Today, Slovak Sport Ponies are allowed to be crossed with Arabians and Welsh ponies of sections A and B. However, in Horse Isle, it is not recommended to cross Slovak Sport Ponies with these breeds due to vast differences in conformation.
Conformation:
In Horse Isle, the Slovak Sport Pony has the almost the same conformation as the Slovak Warmblood, except for its ears that are smaller, its eyes that are larger, its head that is shorter, and its legs that are lighter, thus giving the Slovak Sport Pony a more "sport-pony-like" appearance.
