About
Spotted Saddle Horses always have a pinto coat. The problem with pinto is that all of the pinto genes are dominant, meaning that heterozygous individuals also have a pinto coat. When you cross two such individuals together, you have a 25% chance of getting a solid-colored (non-pinto) foal.
Solid foals are ineligible for registration as Spotted Saddle Horses, but they are eligible for registration in a special sub-registry for solid-colored breeding stock of Spotted Saddle Horses.
Breeding:
The real registry of Spotted Saddle Horses has a sub-registry for solid-colored horses who can be used as breeding stock to create Spotted Saddle Horses. It allows the registration of solid-colored foals of Spotted Saddle Horses, as well as solid-colored horses of other, eligible, gaited breeds.
In Horse Isle, however, the rules are stricter. Only solid-colored foals that were born to two Spotted Saddle Horses, or to one Spotted Saddle Horse and one Solid SSH, can be registered as Solid SSHs. They are to serve only as breeding stock for breeding pinto Spotted Saddle Horses, which is why they
