A Trotter Standardbred is a Standardbred who competes in harness races where the allowed gait is trotting.

About the Trotter Standardbred:
While all Standardbreds are capable of trotting, some Standardbreds can also pace. The pace is a 2-beat lateral gait which is often faster than the trot. Because of this speed difference, many harness races allow only trotting, and disqualify horses who pace.

The need for Standardbreds who can naturally trot fast without breaking into pace led to the creation of a subgroup within the Standardbred breed, called "Trotter Standardbreds." Standardbreds in this group excel in trotting, and know how to maintain their trot even at high speeds. Furthermore, Trotter Standardbreds have their own bloodlines, and breeders usually avoid crossing Pacer Standardbreds with Trotter ones.

Trotter Standardbreds in Horse Isle:
While some Trotter Standardbreds know how to pace, this doesn't happen in Horse Isle. Instead, in Horse Isle, any Standardbred that can pace is automatically classified as a Pacer Standardbred. Only Standardbreds that can't pace (carry coco for gait-keeper gene) are classified as Trotter Standardbreds.

Coats & Height:
Colors: usually bay, brown, black, chestnut, and grey. In rare cases, the coat can be cream-diluted or dominant-white.

Additionals: flaxen, rabicano, roan, sooty, dark mane & tail, grey mane & tail.
Pinto: the coat is usually solid, but in rare cases can be tobiano or white-spotted sabino.

Height: 14hh to 17hh.
